CSRR Brulatour Courthouse Plate
CSRR Brulatour Courthouse Plate
Typical of the Vieux Carré” – Blue Transferware, Made in England
An ode to Old New Orleans, rendered in porcelain and cobalt ink.
This vintage transferware plate, produced by Crown Ducal of Staffordshire, England, was commissioned by Colman E. Adler & Sons, the esteemed Royal Street jeweler, to commemorate the timeless elegance of the French Quarter. The central image depicts the quiet beauty of Brulatour Courtyard, a tucked-away gem off Royal Street, with the caption:
“Brulatour Courtyard – Typical of the Vieux Carré.”
Framed by a classic tulip and scroll border, the plate is both a decorative showpiece and a historical keepsake — capturing the architectural intimacy and Creole charm that define the Vieux Carré.
